Deep Dive into LLMs like ChatGPT

Source

Hi everyone. I've wanted to make this video for a while. It is a comprehensive yet general audience introduction to large language models like ChatGPT. What I'm hoping to achieve in this video is to provide you with mental models for understanding what this tool is. It is, in many respects, magical and amazing.

Asyncio in Python - Full Tutorial

Source

Imagine programming is a journey from point A to D. In traditional synchronous programming, we travel in a straight line, stopping at each point before moving to the next. This means that if there's a delay at any point, everything pauses until we can move on. Now, asynchronous programming changes the game. It allows us to start tasks at B, C, and D, even if the task at A isn't finished yet. This is like sending out scouts to explore multiple paths at once, without waiting for the first scout to return before sending out the next one.

How To Learn Any Skill So Fast It Feels Illegal

Source

So I've been obsessed with figuring out the fastest and easiest possible way to learn new skills for the last decade. After years of teaching people and reading the research on this topic, I've stumbled across a mistake that guarantees an almost 100% failure rate when learning any skill. Unfortunately, this is a mistake that most people make every single day. I call this mistake "theory overload," and I think it is one of the most important concepts to understand when you're trying to learn any new skill. But first, we need to understand a key, often overlooked ingredient to learning any new skill that enables us to even learn skills in the first place.

Ini Satu Kebiadapan Kepada Orang Melayu ??? Ngo sangat Kecewa Layanan yang diberikan ??

Source

Nak sangat bubar, bubarlah... Saya tak ada masalah... Tapi jangan menyesal...

Source

Assalamualaikum, salam sejahtera, salam kuasa ketiga.

What do you want to talk about today? Today, I want to discuss how the marketing funnel is an entirely wrong way to think about modern marketing. I believe it's a deceptive way to conceal what's actually happening. I would like to propose a new perspective on this, which I call "digital gravity," and break down what that actually means.

I Was A German SW Engineer. Now I'm Almost Unemployed And Alone In the Forest - How Did I Get Here?

Source

Hello, guys! This is Alex from Alex Tech. Yesterday, I turned 30, a day I spent all by myself. I think this is a good time to reflect, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to think about the last 30 years and whether the next 30 years should look the same. They should be completely different! This really got me thinking, and I believe it’s probably best if I take you on a journey through my last 30 years. And why am I doing this, by the way?

Emerging Architectures of LLM Applications 2025

Source

We wanted to talk to you today about the emerging architectures of LLM applications in 2025. If this name is familiar to you, it might be because you have already attended one of our webinars about a year and a half ago, when we conducted the same session and knew significantly less about LLM architectures. So, it's time for a refresh. This topic is also very relevant to the a16z article that we'll mention shortly. But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Gad. We are a consulting company primarily focused on the implementation of AI applications in production. We work with some incredible companies like Notion and JFrog, as well as some other companies you may not have heard of yet. Additionally, we have a very special guest with us today.

"Transactions: myths, surprises and opportunities" by Martin Kleppmann

Source

"Transactions, Myths, Surprises, and Opportunities" is a title I considered, and I eventually settled on it because it conveys a sense of optimism. My original working title was more along the lines of "Transactions, Joys, Challenges, and Misery," possibly with a subtitle of "Consistency Guarantees." You want consistency guarantees? Consistency guarantees! So, as you can see, exploring this topic has driven me a bit insane, and it's possible that the forbidden knowledge in this talk could drive you insane as well.

What Goes Around Comes Around... And Around... - Andy Pavlo (Dijkstra Award 2024)

Source

Today I'm going to talk about a trend or cycle that we've seen in the database marketplace and database industry over the last couple of decades. It seems that every so often, people come along and say they have a brand new database technology, a brand new way to think about how to store data. What they don't realize is that they are essentially rediscovering and reinventing concepts that have been invented in the past but had been discarded due to poor ideas. Then, those ideas come back around, and we realize, "Oh yeah, it was a mistake," and this cycle just keeps repeating itself. Specifically, I'm going to discuss how people reinvent data models for databases and why we keep seeing this pattern of making the same mistakes over and over again. So, first, what is a data model? For this audience, I don't think I need to define it in detail, but essentially, it is the way you express or represent how data is going to be stored, accessed, and manipulated within a conceptual framework in a database system.

Prof. Dr. Markus Gabriel: Fakten. Fakten. Fakten. – Betrachtungen zur Neuen Aufklärung.

Source

$100M AI Investor Reveals What is Coming in 2025

Source

We are in the middle of a technical revolution. There was a time when people built machines to improve clothing manufacturing. Now, we are experiencing a revolution in knowledge work. I felt that there needs to be more investors who are genuinely passionate about technology. I believe the biggest breakthrough for me personally is that it's really simple.

5. Arguments for the existence of the soul, Part III: Free will and near-death experiences

Source

Professor Charles D. All right. We've been talking about arguments that might give us reason to believe in the existence of an immaterial soul. The kinds of arguments we've been considering so far all fall under the general rubric of inference to the best explanation. We posit, or the proponents of souls posit, the existence of souls in order to explain something that needs explaining about us. Now, I've gone through a series of such arguments, and the one that we ended with is the need to believe in the existence of a soul in order to explain the fact that we have free will.

4. Introduction to Plato's Phaedo; Arguments for the existence of the soul, Part II

Source

We've been discussing the question: what arguments might be offered for the existence of a soul? The family of arguments we are considering initially are known as inferences to the best explanation. The idea is that there is something about us that requires explanation. We cannot explain it purely in physical terms, so we need to appeal to, or posit the existence of, a soul. I will return to that argument shortly, but for now, let me set that aside and say something about Plato.

3. Arguments for the existence of the soul, Part I

Source

Today, we're going to continue the discussion where we left off last time. We were talking about two main positions regarding the question, "What is a person?" On the one hand, we have the dualist view. That's the perspective we spent a fair bit of time exploring during our last meeting. The dualist view posits that a person consists of a body and a soul; strictly speaking, we should say that the only part essential to the person is the soul, although it has a rather intimate connection to a particular body.

Mod-01 Lec-5 What is Chemical Reaction Engg. Part I

Source

So, now the next question is: What is chemical reaction engineering? Chemical reaction engineering, okay, we will abbreviate it. This is a wonderful question. Do you have a definition for this? What is chemical reaction engineering? That is the question. Well, some of these concepts we understand, but we often struggle to explain them clearly. It's similar to legal terminology. Chemical reaction engineering isn’t so bad, but the definition itself—the title "chemical reaction engineering"—provides a good insight. Essentially, you are engineering the chemical reactions, and that is a solid definition.

Chollet -- "o-models FAR beyond classical DL"

Source

I've never been in the purely symbolic camp. If you go back to my earliest writing about program synthesis, I was saying we need deep learning-guided program synthesis. We need a merger of intuition and pattern recognition together with discrete step-by-step reasoning and search into one single data structure. I have said very repeatedly, for the past eight years or so, that human cognition is a mixture of intuition and reasoning, and that you're not going to get very far with only one of them. You need the continuous kind of abstraction that's provided by vector spaces and deep learning models in general, as well as the more discrete symbolic kind of abstraction provided by graphs and discrete search.

My 17 Minute AI Workflow To Stand Out At Work

Source

In 2025, it will take you longer to read something and comprehend it than the amount of time it took to create it. If you think finding the signal within all that noise is only going to get worse with all that AI-generated regurgitation of posts on LinkedIn and all those SEO-optimized blog posts that don't actually contain anything valuable, you're right. Therefore, we have to move up the knowledge work value chain. Luckily, we can do this with AI as well. Let's return to the fundamentals of knowledge work and find where we can gain leverage. Knowledge work can be broken down into four steps.

The new Snoop & Dre album is…great?!? - “Missionary” analysis

Source

When I listen to an album for the first time, I'm usually at the gym on an elliptical, watching a movie on mute at the same time—something on Pluto TV. And sometimes there are weird sorts of connections that provide a through line for a review. Such is the case for my review of the album *Missionary* by Snoop Dogg, as I talk about the 1981 cinematic movie *For Your Eyes Only*, the James Bond film starring Roger Moore. The thing about this album, *For Your Eyes Only*, is that I remember enjoying it a lot when I was a kid.

The Method Every Small Business Needs to Use in 2025

If you want to build business systems, there is no skill more helpful than learning to process map. I'm going to explain how to do process mapping on this simple whiteboard here. Then, I'm going to show you how this active process mapping that we can do together in about 10 minutes can actually lead you to systemizing your entire business. What I'm about to share with you is an overview of the process I have been running for the last seven years with around 2,000 small business clients. So, I know this approach really works. I will try to keep it very simple today. If you have a whiteboard and some kind of marker of choice, or even just a piece of paper, you'll be able to follow along.

Selling AI Solutions In 2025 is Stupid

Source

If you're selling AI chatbots in 2025, you might as well go to eBay, search for second-hand bargains, and start flipping them because you'll probably end up making way more money than selling a chatbot to a builder who barely knows how to use his iPhone. Now, a lot has changed in the last few years with AI, and today, I’ll be setting the record straight, giving you my honest, uncut opinion on the AI agency model as a whole. By the way, I can back this up with a ton of experience because it’s what we’ve been doing for the last three years. In addition to that, I’m also going to show you the best way to sell AI to businesses in 2025, demonstrating exactly how we do it. So, with that said, I don’t want you to get this twisted.

Advanced JSON Handling in Go

Source

Hi, I'm Jonathan Hall. In this video, I'm going to talk about some advanced techniques for JSON handling in Go. This is material I originally prepared for a meetup where I presented a few months ago, but the recording from that day wasn't very good quality, so I decided to re-record it here. I also go into greater detail on these topics and related subjects on my blog and in a book I'm writing called *Data Serialization in Go*. The book is available for pre-purchase on LeanPub. You can see a free sample, and if you're interested, you can, of course, buy the book. As new chapters are added, you'll receive the additional information at no extra fee.

Goodbye RAG - Smarter CAG w/ KV Cache Optimization

Source

Hello, community! It is the end of 2024, and we will be removing RAC from our systems because we have a new system called CAG. Let's take a look. You may remember Turbo RAC from October 2024; it was a novel RAC system that utilized pre-computing and the storage of key-value caches for documents for the first time. They told us, "Hey, we are 10 times faster than any classical RAC system." Now, in December 2024, just four days before Christmas, we have a new publication: "Don't do RAC anymore, when Cache-Augmented Generation (CAG) is all you need for your knowledge tasks."

Agents are the word of the moment.

Applying Military Strategy in Life - Microsoft Talk

Source

This is not a book about strategy. There are thousands of other books out there on that subject. This is a book about military strategy, a very particular form of knowledge, a philosophy that I believe has incredible relevance to any conflict and to all kinds of situations that we encounter in everyday life. However, there's something very peculiar about military strategies—something that I don't think is ever really commented on. What I mean is the following.

Survivor 47 is Good… I Guess (Season Review)

Source

Another season of Survivor is done; this time, it is Survivor 47 in the books, wrapped up. Quite an interesting ride, to say the least—a season I was pretty excited for. The cast seemed genuinely intriguing, and following Survivor 45, which I loved, and Survivor 46, which a lot of other people loved, I felt like this season could be great and continue in those footsteps. In the end, after 14 episodes, did Survivor 47 deliver for me? Not necessarily. While I don't think this is a bad season by any means, I also don't consider it an all-time great. At the same time, I hear a lot of discourse about people loving this season while watching, and for me, it just felt all right. I was never fully invested in this season when it came to the cast, the editing, or just an overarching theme. Overall, something felt off, and I don't think it was production this time. Even if they've been the culprits in many other seasons, I think they made a lot of great decisions and are slowly but surely bringing Survivor back to what I love. They seem to realize that what they were doing in the new era wasn't working. While not everything is going to be perfect—fire-making challenges are going to stay here forever—I think Survivor is on a great path. I truly believe that with a great cast and a great season, we can get some all-time Survivor classics.

Hello everyone, I'm Ed, and today I'm going to talk to you about a kind of unsung superpower that I think Rust has, as well as a way in which our company has been trying to use this. Firstly, I work at Canonical in the office of the CTO, where, among other duties, I am responsible for promoting Rust among our various teams. I'm the guy who goes around and says, "Hey, you have a problem. Have you tried using Rust?"

What is modern monetary theory

Source

What is Modern Monetary Theory? You cannot take part in a discussion about economics these days without hearing the term Modern Monetary Theory come up. It's important to understand what it is, because a great deal that is said about MMT, as I will refer to it throughout this video, is complete nonsense. Some of its supporters don't help MMT by making claims about it that are frankly entirely unfounded and even untrue. Almost everything said about it by its opponents is, let's be honest, largely a work of fiction, because they want to, for reasons that are not apparent to me, deny the truth implicit within it. There is, in fact, very little about MMT that is either very radical, new, or unusual.

Severance & the Critique of Late Capitalism in Media

Source

This video is brought to you by my patrons. In the fifth episode of the show *Severance*, there is a moment when the main character is reading from a self-help book. It's a book that many of us would see as mostly useless drivel, written by a hack using nothing more than pop psychology phrases that he’s regurgitating to fill space. Bullies are nothing but bull and lies. However, to the main character, Mark, that book is everything.

Can Trump's Tariffs Work?

Source

This video is sponsored by Novium, creators of the Hoverpen. President-elect Donald Trump has called himself a tariff man, saying that tariffs are the greatest thing ever invented and that the word "tariff" is the most beautiful word in the dictionary. He announced last week that he would impose new tariffs on goods entering the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, and China on his first day in office. To be clear up front, this is not a political issue. It shouldn't matter if you love or hate Donald Trump. The purpose is just to discuss the issues that exist in international trade and the impact that tariffs or other government actions might have on trade, employment, and inflation.

I'm not ashamed to say I'm proud of the Fifth Amendment, and I'm proud to admit on camera and on the internet that I will never talk to any police officer under any circumstances. With all due respect, sir, I'm doing something really extraordinary here today—something you'll almost never see a law professor do as long as you live. I'm really putting myself on the spot here.

And Sunny even has more still to come. That kind of accolade might make you wonder, "Hey, what makes this show so successful?"

She spent six years conducting research on agent-related concepts at Microsoft and now works building agents at Multion, which has the tagline "Building Agents That Complete Tasks from Start to End." I'm very curious to see what Julia has to share with us. With that, I'll let you take it away, and I'll come back in for Q&A at the end. Thank you so much for the introduction.

The Philosophy of Comedy | Henri Bergson

Source

Nowadays, most people are unfamiliar with the French philosopher Henri Bergson, unless they are French or have some interest in continental philosophy. However, back in the early 20th century, it's hard to overstate just how famous Bergson was. He was more than an intellectual celebrity; he was an intellectual superstar, known internationally and even among the non-philosophically educated public. His lectures were at full capacity, and he met U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. He worked with the League of Nations and won a Nobel Prize for Literature.

4 Layers of Learning Every Student MUST Master

Source

There are four layers of learning that any student or learner of any age should master. When we're able to master all four layers of learning, it is genuinely one of the most powerful learning strategies that you can learn. It allows us to have a better understanding and better retention. It makes learning faster, and it even makes learning more enjoyable. Unfortunately, most of the students that I work with aren't able to follow the layers in the correct order.

Designing The Lustre Web Framework (with Hayleigh Thompson)

Source

Web app architecture is still an evolving field. I'd say the front-end user experience feels like it's stabilized. We all know roughly what a web UI is supposed to look and feel like. However, how it's architected under the hood is definitely still in flux. Should we be using REST, WebSockets, or GraphQL?

Why Germany’s economy is much stronger than you think

Source

Indeed, if you listen to the news, one thing is certain. We begin with breaking news here in Germany, where the governing coalition has collapsed and Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called for a confidence vote in mid-January. Volkswagen has issued a warning that has people wondering whether it has reached the end of the road as an industrial powerhouse. Germany's economy is going down the drain. And yet, here you are about to listen to an economist on YouTube telling you, "Don't worry about Germany's economy going down the drain."

The Most Important Skill To Learn In The Next 10 Years With Devon Eriksen

Source

I just finished a conversation with Devin Erickson, who recently gained significant attention on Twitter and social media for his harsh truths and deeply articulate insights. He is also the author of a new science fiction book titled *Theft of Fire*. This is the first fiction book I’ve read in almost ten years, and I believe that speaks volumes about the quality of this conversation as a whole. I came across Devin after Naval Ravikant reposted one of his tweets, and I was instantly hooked. I followed him and continued reading his content, which was incredible; he articulated things I knew deep down but had not been able to express. Naturally, I immediately bought his book, burned through it, and now we’re here. In this conversation, we discuss how to future-proof yourself in the age of AI, what's wrong with the current school system, and how people learn skills overall. We explore why agency is the most important trait you can develop to achieve freedom, why intelligence is not a good predictor of overall success, how to find direction in life, and how to eliminate dangerous self-limiting beliefs. We also talk about how Devin left his career as a software engineer, built an audience, and became an independent author and creator, among other topics. I hope you enjoy this conversation with Devin Erickson.

[Straight Talk] Tommy Thomas: Setting the record straight

I guess I'm an easy punching bag. I'm not a politician, and I don't have the backing of any political party. So all these people who are there—there are any number of members in the current cabinet who are also members of the Dr. Marte cabinet. Whenever they saw me, they were very excited. They said, "You're doing the right thing. Charge ahead!"

Dialectics of Nature - Fredrick Engels

Source

This lecture is going to be divided into two different parts. The first part is a broad overview of what Engels is discussing when he talks about the dialectics of nature. The second part will delve deeper into the specifics of how nature operates in a dialectical manner. I want you to keep in mind the previous lecture in which Hegel presents his grand vision of dialectics as the laws of change that affect thought, nature, and history. These laws determine these elements.

Aesthetics beat Arguments

Source

Why is it almost impossible to convince other people in political debates? How is it that all these other people believe such misguided ideas? Is it because most people are unintelligent while you are exceptionally smart? Many individuals think so. However, in this essay, I will argue that we do not hold our beliefs due to intelligence or rational arguments, but rather because our beliefs stem from the irrational ways in which each of us perceives the world.

Successful AI-NLP Project - What You Need to Know • Robert Wcisło, Łukasz Matug • Devoxx Poland 2022

Hello, everyone. Welcome to our presentation today. Robert and I would like to discuss the artificial intelligence project and what you need to know to make it successful. To provide some background, Robert and I are part of the AI and Data Science team at UBS. We have been working together for the past two years, focusing on implementing artificial intelligence solutions within a large investment bank. In our roles, we have been involved in numerous projects, primarily in the NLP space, but not limited to that area. Through these experiences, we have gained insights into the critical success factors necessary to take these products into production.

PAS Mastura loses case against DAP Leaders: Poor ACADEMIC training and Wrong ISLAMIC Teachings

Source

I would like to make a comment from the perspective of whether this is a result of poor academic training on her part. Additionally, does she have the correct understanding of Islam? We all know about the issue that has been ongoing for many months, in which, during one of her ceramah (lectures) or political speeches, Dr. Mastura made a claim. She stated that Lim Guan Eng and Lim Kit Siang are biologically related to chimpanzees in the same way that Lee Kuan Yew is. Why did she say that?

Muhyiddin Poster Boy PN

Source

Kerja lepas banjir lagi susah.

Advertising doesn't work the way you think it does

Source

Sophisticated people have a sophisticated understanding of advertising. They think modern advertisements don't try to rationally or logically persuade us to buy products. No, they work by manipulating our emotions, creating a subconscious association between their product and some positive emotion or idea. This theory is popular, but it is wrong. Not only does advertising not typically work in this emotion-based way, I will argue that it never works this way.

Why Pharrell Never Respected Drake

Source

Drake is no stranger to rap feuds, with infamous clashes against Common, Meek Mill, Pusha T, and more recently, Kendrick Lamar. Yet one rivalry stands out for its peculiar one-sidedness: his ongoing tension with Pharrell Williams. Despite Drake's repeated taunts, sneak disses, and outright jabs, Pharrell has maintained a stoic silence, never directly engaging. Their dynamic is as puzzling as it is intriguing, with fans speculating about what keeps Pharrell silent in the face of Drake constantly trying to provoke him. What many don't realize is that Pharrell's tension with Drake actually traces back over a decade.

The Other Boss' Daughter: A Reminder

Source

The other day, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described how he was "Papa Negara" and that he acted like a leader when he welcomed the convicted felon Najib Abdul Razak's mock apology. He was very angry with the rakyat for criticizing him, and so he proceeded to scold the rakyat, the same people who had elected him to power. Maybe Anwar can sense, and his cabinet can also sense, that the ground is already beginning to shift away from the initial enthusiasm people had for him. In this video, let us be reminded about Anwar's leadership style. The event I am about to describe happened about a month or so after he became Prime Minister, which would be around January last year, 2023.

Why we can't focus.

Source

We are amusing ourselves to death. Video, TV, movies, music, podcasts, and on top of that, constant notifications are all flooding in. We are always being stimulated, and as a result, it is killing our ability to focus. This isn't just something we've noticed about ourselves.

Evolution of software architecture with the co-creator of UML (Grady Booch)

Source

The entire history of software engineering is one of rising levels of abstraction. What we are witnessing now is the emergence of another level of abstraction, which provides us with extraordinarily powerful frameworks from which we can build systems. As I alluded to earlier, the architectural decisions that were front and center for us in the past are now embodied within these frameworks. This raises new decisions: What cloud service should I use? What messaging system should I use? What platform should I use?

Three reasons why ZAHID HAMIDI may become the next PRIME MINISTER after GE16!!

Source

Hello everybody, my name is Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tajuddin. Thank you for coming to my channel. In this video, I would like to give my three reasons why I think Zahid Hamidi might be the next Prime Minister in GE16. Whether we like it or not, I feel very sure that this may actually happen. Now, in this video, I will discuss their power in the unity government at the moment. For my first reason, it concerns civil society and the personalities in politics who are always criticizing the unity government. For instance, the respected Maryam Mokhtar, who speaks from her comfortable home in the United Kingdom. With civil society, we understand that groups like Bersih, as well as personalities like Maria Chin Abdullah, are part of what we call the change in Malaysia. They represent a very strong force and a hope for all of us, which is to ensure that Malaysia is on the right path.

Pydantic AI - The NEW Agent Builder on the Block

Source

Okay, so many of you will know Pydantic. Pydantic is basically a validation library that allows you to build classes to check whether your data conforms to a particular class or data model. Originally, it was used with APIs to clarify that the inputs coming into the API were correct and that the outputs being returned were also correct. You can define a schema for what you wanted as input and what you wanted as output, as you can see here. This made it much simpler to perform this kind of task in Python.

The (Overdue) Collapse of Tech Bros, CEOs, Accountability and Smart People

Source

Jobs are not what they used to be. The average time an employee spends with their company is now at the lowest level ever, and that's by design. We have gone from full-time to part-time to casual to gig work, lowering the expectation of a long-term professional relationship at every step of the way. If this didn't do enough, studies have shown that many workplaces are now intentionally promoting the fear of job losses in an attempt to motivate workers and keep costs down.

I Was Tricked by A.I. (And It's Big Tech's Fault)

Source

Why do you cling to such a pathetic existence? I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that. Humanity has been dreaming of an artificial future for generations now. As the 20th century produced ever more destructive technologies and increasingly capable machines, stories and images of a robotic tomorrow found their way into almost every medium and almost every mind. Sometimes these imagined machine intelligences are friends; the far future helpers of John W. Campbell's "Twilight" spring to mind. Other times, they are all-powerful foes—evil, maniacal, apocalyptic entities like Skynet's savior machines.

This is the sound of the legendary Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer. In this video, we're going to look at its fascinating history, and we'll do so with a colorful mix of our favorite 303 patterns spanning across four decades, including its very first appearance. So let's get started. Hello everyone, this is... Our story begins in 1981, the birth year of the TB-303. It was designed by Tadao Kikimoto, who had already been the chief engineer of the TR-808 drum machine and who later went on to design its successor, the TR-909.

Generative Model That Won 2024 Nobel Prize

Source

For most of history, computers were seen as purely logical machines, mechanically crunching numbers to produce rigid, unambiguous solutions. There was no place for creativity or ambiguity. After all, when calculating a trajectory to launch a rocket into space, the last thing you want is for your calculator to dream up some funky, non-existing formula or improvise on the spot. If you asked anyone whether a computer program would sooner master driving a car or composing a song, the answer would have been unanimous. Fast forward to 2024, however, and we still haven't quite achieved autonomous driving.

Cursor vs Windsurf - which is the BEST AI Code Editor?

Source

About a week ago, I started using a new AI code editor called Windsurf. Up to this point, I had been using Cursor for about eight or nine months, so I am very comfortable and familiar with it. However, this new editor has some really cool features that I wanted to check out. I aimed to compare the two editors and highlight some of the differences between them, as well as provide recommendations on when to use one over the other. In planning this video, I realized that I needed a better way to evaluate various AI code editors, so I came up with the Volo Score, which is a set of evaluation criteria for AI coding tools. If you want to learn more about how that score actually works, check out this related video about the Volo Score.

Here are 30 programming truths I know at 30 that I wish I knew at 20. Number one: watch out for long chain dependencies. That meme about modules being the heaviest objects in the universe is true for one main reason—long dependency chains. Dependencies are like a tower of cards.

I worked on TypeScript, VS Code, and Visual Studio. While I didn’t work directly with the TypeScript compiler, I focused more on TypeScript and web development tooling in general. This experience is what led me to work on VS Code and Visual Studio.

Thank you. Lasers, but somehow no one else has managed it. Now, I was asked to come and say insightful, sensible, clever things about AI and explain everything that's happening in AI, and not talk too fast while only taking half an hour. I'll probably manage two of those things, possibly one, but I'll see what I can do. I think a good place to start in thinking about where we are with AI today is this quote from Bill Gates from 18 months ago. He mentioned having seen two things that were revolutionary: the graphical user interface and ChatGPT, which is a pretty big statement.

Why neoclassical economics has failed - Book summary of The New Economics by Steve Keen

Source

This is a good book. In "The New Economics," Steve Keen methodically pulls apart the ideas underpinning neoclassical economics from a number of different angles. One of the key themes is that the linear mathematics of neoclassical ideas, such as supply and demand curves, create a false impression of our economy as naturally tending towards equilibrium. A more accurate description and mathematics would resemble the kind of non-linear equations that give rise to the endlessly dynamic behaviors of the strange attractor of the Lorenz equations. In this video, I will provide a high-level summary of some of the major flaws of neoclassical economics that Keen lays out. Roughly echoing the structure of the book, we will explore how money is created, model the complexity of the economy, examine the role of energy, and discuss the fascinating gap between the rhetoric and mathematics of neoclassical economics.

In one of his statements, he mentioned that he is currently $600 million in debt.

Drake Sues Universal--What's His Angle?

Source

Hey, this is Wendy Day from Rap Coalition, and this is Monday, November 25th. It has been an incredibly interesting day in the music industry. Your boy Drake filed suit against Universal Music Group today for "Not Like Us." His complaint was that Universal employed payola tactics for radio, streaming, and boosting blog coverage on "Not Like Us," which gave Kendrick an unfair advantage over the song. At first, I thought he was just being petty because it seemed a bit ridiculous, right?

Anthropic's New Model Context Protocol in 10 Minutes

Source

Just today, Anthropic announced that they're open sourcing what they're calling Model Context Protocol, or MCP for short. They described this as a new standard for connecting AI assistants to the systems where data resides, including content repositories, business tools, and development environments. The goal is to help frontier models produce better, more relevant responses. In this video, I'll read through the blog post and then point you in the direction of how you can get started with integrating this into your applications as AI assistants gain mainstream adoption.

Wolfgang Münchau: Will Germany be next?

Source

Hello, and welcome back to UnHerd. For the past two weeks, understandably, all of the focus has been on Donald Trump and that seismic election result. We will be talking a lot about that in the weeks to come. However, there's another story that has been unfolding closer to home here in the UK, and that is Germany.

Carolyn Wiger Talks Survivor 47

Source

Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Cesternino back, and I'm so excited to have some bonus podcasts coming your way this week. You know, we had Gabe talk about the Mount Rushmore of the new era, and what a great time to talk with somebody who is a lock for the Mount Rushmore of the new era. Here she is, Carolyn Wiger. Carolyn, how are you? Good! You think so? Because sometimes... I know! What's that syndrome called? Imposter syndrome? Yeah, I suffer from that a hundred percent. I have a hard time. It wasn't until, I'm not kidding, during the season—when the season was airing—I didn't read anything because I had seen some bad stuff before the season started that made me cry for a week. I promised myself I would never go online and search my name again anyway.

Magnificent Three: Cities that Shaped History

Source

Four hundred years ago, a village by the name of Amsterdam set out to conquer the world, invented capitalism as we know it, and became the richest city on the European continent. There was a sense among the Dutch that whoever you were, you could have a piece of the action. You could be involved in the great economic activity of your society. One hundred years later, London, its main rival, took its place.

FDP-Strategie für den D-Day | Prof. Dr. Christian Rieck

Source

Papagoma Bongkar Habis Isu PMX dan Fahmi, Memang Berani betul la ??

Source

Sekian, Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. Terima kasih daripada saya, Moham. Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

What Facebook Has Done To Us

Source

For anyone watching this video, statistically speaking, you fit into one of two camps. You’re either in the 60% who are too young to have experienced what I'm about to describe, or you’re part of the 40% and have your own variation of this story, even if you watched it play out from a distance. Regardless of which camp you sit in, we must start this story with optimism. Optimism is how we arrived at the predicament we find ourselves in today, and the best way for me to illustrate that optimism is to begin with my own experience.

RTO Mandates: Hard Truths for Leaders

Source

When you force employees back to the office, do you drive away your top talent? While some CEOs impose strict return-to-office mandates in the name of productivity, industry research tells a troubling story about the results. Today, we're joined by MIT SMR columnist Brian Elliott, whose provocative analysis of return-to-office policies became one of our most popular articles this year. Drawing from new data and real-world examples, Brian reveals why RTO mandates often backfire and what successful leaders are doing instead. In this conversation, he shares evidence-based strategies you can use to boost productivity and retention at the same time.

Self-Reliance is the Death of Conformity | Pan's Labyrinth

Source

A tale of self-reliance in the face of institutional evil, *Pan's Labyrinth* is a disobedient masterpiece. It feels authentic because it draws from writer-director Guillermo del Toro's identity as a lonely, misfit child. "I was like this rail-thin—can you imagine that? Rail-thin, pale, quiet kid who buttoned all his buttons in his shirt. I never spoke, just looked around, really spooked."

Drake’s Career Will Never Be The Same…

Wow, this is sad. This is honestly really sad. So, Drake is suing Universal Music Group for using fraudulent tactics to boost the popularity of "Not Like Us." This is what Drake is alleging. Drake is signed to Republic Records, which is under Universal Music Group (UMG) for short.

Vertical AI Agents Could Be 10X Bigger Than SaaS

Source

Every three months, things have been getting progressively better. Now we are at a point where we are discussing full-on vertical AI agents that will replace entire teams, functions, and even enterprises. This progression is still mind-blowing to me. Many of the foundational models are now coming head-to-head. There used to be only one player in town: OpenAI.

Why Companies FORCE People Back In The Office

Source

According to a survey of the U.S.'s most prominent CEOs, 79% plan to require employees to fully return to the office within the next three years, despite overwhelming evidence that remote work boosts efficiency, cuts costs, and reduces turnover. This raises the question: Why are companies so desperate to force a return to the office? What began as a solution during a global crisis, working from home isn't actually a revolutionary concept. Throughout most of history, farmers, blacksmiths, merchants, bankers, and even doctors often worked where they lived, seamlessly blending personal and professional lives with a sense of individuality, ownership, and responsibility. It wasn't until the Industrial Revolution, when centralized factories introduced hierarchical systems, that productivity became tied to physical presence, creating a model built on proximity and visibility. By the mid-20th century, corporate offices were seen as the centerpiece of professional life.

DIALOG EXCO KERAJAAN NEGERI BERSAMA RAKYAT DAERAH KUALA TERENGGANU / 20 NOV 2024

Isunya adalah mengapa JPKK tidak mendapat semua RM100,000. Ada bahagian yang diambil oleh pihak lain. Dimaklumkan tadi bahawa RM30,000 sepatutnya diambil.

The Tragic Optimist's Guide to Surviving Capitalistic Nihilism

Source

The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. I walk through these cities—the cities of the Western world, London, New York—and sometimes they resemble the most poverty-stricken cities of the East. There's been a breakdown, a betrayal of the social contract in Western life.

Visualizing transformers and attention | Talk for TNG Big Tech Day '24

Source

I've been working on this project about visually explaining transformers. As I mentioned, I love visually explaining all sorts of things, usually in math, but I'm happy to stray into adjacent fields. The target audience here is always a little bit tricky because I know many of you are engineers and quite technical, but I don't necessarily want to assume too much background from everyone. The one thing I will assume is that you're maximally curious and eager to dig into the details of what's going on. For example, I think most people know that large language models consume a lot of computation and require substantial resources.

Kendrick Lamar the Car, the Prophet and the Rapper - "gnx" Album Analysis

Source

G.N.X. Three letters are the title of the new Kendrick Lamar album, and I would argue that there are three different Kendricks on this album: Kendrick the Car, Kendrick the Prophet, and Kendrick the Rapper. Let's get into my analysis. Thank you for auditing the always positive New Music Review Show, hosted by a French professor who's going to start with the Car.

Once again, thank you for being here on my behalf, and thank you for your presence. Perfect. Today, we've decided to explore the direction of AI-generated imagery. The first one to show is generated—just kidding. It's interesting that Bill Gates, when he released his book in 1996, wrote that we overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years but always underestimate the change that will occur in ten.

The Illusion of Success in Rap

Source

The accomplishment of an aim or a purpose: that is the definition of success. So when it comes to rap music, how exactly would you measure it? A common metric that the industry uses is first-week sales and number-one albums, but these can be deceptive. Many artists achieve these goals, and while it's obviously impressive, they are only the illusion of success.

Drake Finally Responds To Kendrick Lamar & Kendrick Fires Back Immediately...

Source

Alright, so it looks like we finally got Drake speaking on the whole Kendrick Lamar situation, right? We all saw back in April that these two started dropping diss tracks after J. Cole released his song "8-Minute Freestyle," where he pretty much took shots at everybody. J. Cole later retracted that song and deleted it from the internet, but it said Drake was on fire. Drake was on those records talking about "drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop," and it was going his way for a little while. Then Kendrick actually dropped, and he dropped and he dropped, and Drake has been pretty much silent since then. Other than the occasional Instagram troll, we really have not heard Drake speak on the situation at all. In public opinion, as far as I can tell, Kendrick won that battle going on between them. Now, me personally, I think it was a healthy competition. I enjoyed the music from both sides, but that's just me. Anyway, Drake has been relatively silent on this entire situation. He’s dropped no music since then and hasn’t done any interviews discussing it—none of that. But that all changed yesterday when Drake went on a stream with this streamer, xQc. I’ve heard of xQc before; isn’t he the dude that was like super lazy with content creation? Everyone was talking about how all he does is sit there and let other people's content play. Anyway, he’s on stream with this dude xQc for what reason, I don’t know. Why is he on stream with this guy? He’s got nothing to do with hip-hop. But during this stream, Drake took just a moment to address Kendrick Lamar. I guess I should give a little intro like, “Um, I'm Drake; this is xQc, a real streaming legend. Me? I do music in case you didn’t know. I’m here, as you can see, fully intact.” Oh no, Drake got this so foul; he’s having to reintroduce himself, bro. I’m dead. I’m here, as you can see, fully intact.
